Global Design
Instant Edit works using a global design template which means that certain aspects of the design will remain the same on each page of the website. Most websites will have the same unified look on all the pages as part of the master design. Parts of the global design setup can include such things as navigation, logo, background, artwork or other aspects of the page found in the same position on all pages.
This global design helps to give your website a unified appearance. Nearly every Instant Edit website will use a global design although it may be altered for dramatic effect on home pages or special content pages if you wish. Unless you have a specific reason for breaking the global do not as it may increase the cost of a website.
Below is an example from our demo site Cafe Avellino illustrating the global design used. Each page follows this same format.

Layouts
Now that the master design has been defined, we can progress to setting up a layout that can be repeated for every page of the website. Multiple layouts do incur some extra, but modest, charges. A layout describes how you wish to arrange different content types within different content areas on the same page.
Below is a demonstration of one global design with two different page layouts for laying content on a page differently.
