Page Width/Height
We recommend your website width should be no more than 1000 pixels and no less than 600 pixels.
You have the option for your website to be fixed height or a dynamic height. A fixed height page can only contain a certain amount of content. A Dynamic height is where, no matter how much content you put onto a page, your viewers will be able to scroll down the page to view it all. By default the height will be 'dynamic' unless you specifically indicate otherwise. Rounded Measurements
It is always a good idea to have the “content areas” on your page rounded to the nearest 10 pixels. i.e. 96px would be 100px. Browser Compatibility
Not all browsers are the same, and even more unfortunate is that people don't keep their browsers up to date. At Instant Edit we have a policy of making sure that our websites look and work the way they are supposed to in Internet Explorer 7 and 8, Mozzila Firefox 2 +, Apple Safari 3 +, Google Chrome 1 + and Opera 10. HTML5 Compatibility
There are some techniques that we have adopted from the HTML draft that are not readably available in Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or 8. These include radius borders, shadows on text, and shadows on boxes. The next release of Internet Explorer includes these new improvements.
When these effects are included in your graphic design, we will use these HTML5 effects and not the traditional background images where possible. This will ensure clean elegant code and reduce the loading time.
We only use this technique where the website will still look good when square and without shadows. You can include a design note so your developer uses the traditional background image method instead.
