Instant Edit Manual

The Toolbar

The toolbar is only visible when you are logged into Instant Edit and provides the necessary tools for you to modify your site.  There are two different toolbars on our platform, the standard toolbar, as illustrated below.  And the "Edit Mode" toolbar.

The Menu

The menu is the single button on the left hand side of the toolbar.  Usually it has an Instant Edit logo but may have a different logo if your website has custom branding associated with it.

Hover over the button to display a drop down box with options and settings that are available for your user.

Edit Mode

On the far right hand corner of the toolbar is a button that simply says "Edit".  Navigate to the page within your website you wish to edit, and click "Edit" to enter edit mode.  The toolbar will change to an editing toolbar and faint outlined boxes will appear on your page with the areas you can edit.  Learn more about editing text and images here. Stats provide information about the page views and visitors to current page you are viewing .  Hover over the points in the graph to see an accurate number of visitors for that day.  Click 'view all stats' to see stats covered by your entire site.

Publish

Publishing on Instant Edit allows you to edit your website in "Edit Mode" and save your changes without your page going public as soon as you save.  This allows you to work on a page over a period of time until it is just right.  When you want your page to "Go Live" simply push the red publish button on your toolbar.  Publishing can take anywhere to a second to a couple of minutes to complete.  After a publish has completed the red publish button will turn green with a tick.

To View all your pages that have not been published, hover over the publish button whether it is red or green, and a drop down box will appear with all the pages pending waiting to be published.  You can click "Publish All" to publish all pending pages.
